Description

If you know anything about me, you should know that I'm a sucker for a good Grand Tourer. I love sports coupes. So, I decided it was about time to do a fully digital, original, Rossion. I sketched out a few ideas, then created an outline, and sent it to my good friend Ian Grunes, head of Rossion, over Facebook. He replied, "I really like it!"

With all the encouragement I needed, I set off to finish the Rossion grand tourer I called the "RPGT". As soon as I finished, I sent the picture above to Mr. Grunes. He replied: "Very cool. Interesting tail light...Like the roofline." I think I can safely say that I am one of the very few people on this site who has drawn a car for a company that they do not work for and received a stamp of approval from the head of the company itself.

Now for a little bit about the car. It's rear-engined and rear-wheel drive, fitted with either a 2.0L EcoBoost I-4 making 325 hp or a 3.5L turbocharged Duratec V6 making 500 hp. The body is fully carbon fiber. The most interesting feature, design-wise, is that there is no rear window. In order to have the roof scoop span the entire roof to improve cooling, the window had to be deleted. Instead, there is a camera mounted on the roof that feeds to a permanent rear-view display on the center console, like the Tesla Model S (interior not pictured). Believe it or not, this is actually more convenient and provides a better view than a conventional rear window.
